Change Chrome languages & translate webpages - Computer (2024)

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
3. On the right of the address bar, click Translate .
4. Click on your preferred language.
5. Chrome will translate your current webpage.

You can translate a section of a page to help you understand the details easier.

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
3. Highlight a section of text.
4. Right click the highlighted text.
5. Click Translate selection to [Language].

Tip: If you want to change the language to translate into, click More Choose another language Down arrow .

You can control whether Chrome will offer to translate webpages.

You can select the language Chrome translates the page into.

2. At the top right, click More Settings.
3. On the left, click Languages.
4. Under “Google Translate,” click Translate into this language.
5. Select the language that you want from the language list.

If the page is in more than one language, it shows your preferred language first.

7. If you want to:
   • Reorder languages: Beside the language you want to move, click More Move down.

4. Under "Preferred languages," next to the language you'd like to use, click More .
   • If the language isn't listed, add it by clicking Add languages.
5. Click Display Google Chrome in this language.
   • This option is only available on Windows computers.
6. Restart Chrome to apply the changes.
