GARTER ST (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.

STRIPES-1 (small Christmas tree):
Work every round worked K with light beige.
Work every round worked P with forest.

STRIPES-2 (large Christmas tree):
Work every round worked K with forest.
Work every round worked P with light beige.

SANTA:
Work 2 Santas but in different colour combinations. Fasten a beard on Santa when finished.

FEMALE SANTA:

BODY:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 20 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5mm with deep red, distribute sts evenly on 4 double pointed needles. P 1 round, 1 ridge in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Then work as follows: * K 2 round with light beige, K 1 round with deep red *, repeat from *-* 1 more time, and K 2 rounds with light beige. Then work 2 ridges with deep red. Continue on hat.

HAT:
Switch to light beige and K 1 round. Work next round as follows: P 8, K 5, turn (NOTE: Tighten yarn when turning to avoid hole), P 5, turn and P the last 12 sts on round. Work 1 ridge. Switch to deep red and K 1 round. On next round, dec 1 st at beg of every double pointed needle by K the first 2 tog (= 4 sts dec) = 16 sts. Repeat dec on every 8th round until 4 sts remain. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

POMPOM AND NOSE:
Make 1 mini pompom as follows: Twine a strand of light beige approx. 7 times around 3 fingers, tie a strand firmly around the middle. Cut on loops in each side so that the pompom measures approx. 1½ cm in diameter. Fasten it at the top of hat and fasten it in addition to the side of hat with a small stitch. Fasten a wooden ball as nose under the edge of hat, where you worked back and forth. Fill the top of hat with some left-over yarn and pull Santa over a wine cork.

SANTA:
Work the same way as female Santa but switch the colour on body. Work entire hat in deep red.
Beard: Cut a strand of light beige of approx. 7 cm and pull it around a st at the bottom edge of the light beige edge under nose - let the yarn end hang loosely on each side of st. Fasten 2 more strands the same way. Separate the yarnends to make the beard fluffy and cut the beard to desired length.

CHRISTMAS TREES:
Work 1 small Christmas tree with forest stripes, 1 large Christmas tree with light beige stripes and 1 uni-coloured forest Christmas tree.

SMALL CHRISTMAS TREE WITH STRIPES:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 20 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5mm with light beige, distribute sts evenly on 4 double pointed needles - READ STRIPES-1. P 1 round, K 3 round and P 1 round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Then work as follows: * K 1 round while dec 1 st at beg of every double pointed needle by working the first 2 sts K tog (= 4 sts dec), K 2 rounds, P 1 round, K 3 rounds, P 1 round *, repeat from *-* until 4 sts remain. LARGE CHRISTMAS TREE WITH STRIPES:

P 1 round, * K 3 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-* 1 more time..
