Summer always brings on the desire to eat more fresh, healthy foods. Sweet, juicy berries are often at top of that list.

I love the combination of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. I’ve used combinations of berries in several recipes, including Mixed Berry Puff Pastry Tart and Mixed Berry Napoleon and they are all so delicious.

While on a major smoothie kick, I made this Mixed Berry Smoothie. It’s currently my favorite go-to breakfast for me and my oldest son.

Why This Recipe Works

This smoothie couldn’t be easier to make. Just throw everything into your blender and go! It literally takes just minutes.

This is a smooth and creamy beverage with just the right amount of fresh berry sweetness. It’s perfect for breakfast or a cool treat on a hot summer day.

It’s low in calories and has only 15 new carbs per serving.

Tips and Techniques

  • Use fresh berries for the best results.
  • You can use any combination of berries that you prefer. Just be sure to use a total of 1 cup of berries.
  • Smoothies are best when consumed immediately, but you can freeze extra, if necessary.

FAQ’s

Can You Use Frozen Berries?

Yes. You can use frozen berries instead of fresh. When using frozen berries and ice, the smoothie may be too thick. You can add some water in place of some of the ice to get the consistency you prefer.

Can You Freeze Smoothies?

Yes. You can freeze leftover smoothie mixture. Allow it to thaw partially so that when you stir it, it has the ideal consistency and texture.
