Have you ever wondered whether your breasts weigh more or less than a newborn polar bear? Or perhaps a Persian kitten?
Well, wonder no more. Because the Japanese branch of US lingerie company Genie has created a handy chart which helps you visualise the strain your breasts could be putting on your neck and shoulders.
They have taken the average weight of each cup size and worked out what that would look like in the animal kingdom.
So, if you wear an A-cup, your breasts probably weigh the equivalent of two chipmunks. But, if you’re an F-cup, you’re hauling round a three-month-old Persian kitten every day. And so on.
How much do D-cup breasts weigh? D-cup breast tissue has an average weight of 3.06 lbs or 1.53 lbs per breast. Whilst this is the average, some D-cup sizes breasts can weigh up to 6.7 lbs (or 3.35 lbs per breast).
Breast weight (x = 484 grams) accounted for 3.5 percent of the total weight of body fat, and at most, 12 percent of the estimated quantities of sex-specific fat.
DDD, E and F all refer to extra-large breasts. The letter doesn't change if you gain or lose weight. However, if you do gain or lose weight, your breast size will change, so a bra that used to fit you perfectly might not anymore.
According to a survey conducted between 1992 and 2013, the average bra size in the U.S. has increased from a 34B to a 34DD, and now just six years later, the average has shot up to a DDD — that's the largest compared to any of the other countries studied.
As far as the implant weight itself goes, for every 100cc, a silicone implant weighs 0.23lbs. For every 100cc a saline implant weighs 0.21lbs. Thus, the average 300cc silicone implant weighs 0.69 pounds and both of them together weigh 1.38 pounds or less than a pound and a half.
Your D Cup breasts weigh about 920g which is equivalent to a pineapple! Your G Cup breasts weigh about 2.1kg which is the equivalent to two litres of milk! Your K Cup breasts weigh about 3.4kg which is the equivalent to a newborn baby!
Gigantomastia is characterized by: Breasts that have an excess of at least 5 pounds of breast tissue. Extra breast tissue that equals more than 3% of your total body weight.
The cup sizes A, B, C and D are the core ones. As you move up through alphabetical order DD would be one size larger than D. This pattern continues until you reach double-letter (like FF) cups which also have a gap of one between them; for instance, E is bigger than DD just like how DD is greater compared to D.
