Winter Recipes Bucket List
January 12, 2021
I made my first recipe bucket list this past fall and I loved having some new recipes we wanted to try ready at my fingertips when I was craving something new! For winter I went looking for comfy casseroles, warm soups, and a few sweets to try too.
- Stuffed shells or baked manicotti-- I haven't made this since before my boys were born! Literally they have never had either dish but I do remember enjoying making them so I'd really like to try and get one made this winter and see what they think of it.
- Creamy sundried tomato chicken and orzo-- I saw this on Tanya's website and thought it just looked too yummy not to try!
- Italian sausage & white bean soup-- I saw this pin and knew I already had a bunch of these ingredients on-hand already.
- Teriyaki chicken casserole-- I just love a good casserole!
- Loaded cauliflower broccoli casserole-- I was looking for some vegetable side dishes for the holidays and found so many recipes I wanted to try.
- I also found this apple butternut squash casserole-- I just love butternut squash and apples so I think this is going to be a favorite!
- It may not seem like it based on the recipes above but I do want to eat healthier so I was really excited to find this Weight Watcher's baked potato soup recipe.
- I've been wanting to try a new scone recipe-- perhaps dark chocolate/raspberry, or cranberry/white chocolate.. something both fruity and sweet.
- A new winter popcorn snack. I'm not a huge fan of popcorn but I did love our Sweet Spring Popcorn Mix.
What is one of your favorite winter recipes?

I need to collect some recipe ideas - I have a lot of stipulations which makes it hard!

I love the idea of a recipe bucket list. I added some of those ideas to my list of what I want to make.

Have mercy! I have GOT to get back to WW before I have to resort to wearing muumuus!! But that veggie casserole and the teriyaki chick are to die for!! Thinking I could light-en them - *my WOTY* - and maybe make them WW friendlier. Pinned and pinned this post!

Ooh it all looks delicious, Joanne! I am a big fan of soups and casseroles, too! I just slow cooked chicken breast in beer and taco seasoning which made the best tacos. Then I made nachos with it. Then I made a bagel sandwich with cheese and bacon with the beer chicken and it was quite possibly the most amazing thing I have ever tasted! Now I am thinking of different recipes to create with slow cooked chicken in different beers! Thanks for sharing your favorites and linking with me.

Share Our Lives: 5 Items I Can't Live Without
March 11, 2024
This month for the Share Our Lives link up we're talking about 5 items we can't live without. I don't know about you but I really struggled with this list! Obviously there are literal things I can't live without; food, water, shelter, air, etc. and things I wouldn't want to live without; my family, my friends, money, etc. But I was pretty sure we were talking about fun items-- things we use every single day (or nearly) and don't want to be without. I had to silence that literal side of my brain that kept making me delete things because obviously I CAN live without any of these items... but I don't think I'd want to. 1. BOOKS! (I realize this is not just one item but I could not imagine my life without books). 2. My phone-- mostly because I love having a camera in my back pocket (it actually replaced my old point and shoot that I used to carry around in my back pocket). 3. My Yeti-- preferably filled with ice cold water 4. My car-- where we live

Prime Purchases in February 2023
March 04, 2024
Why do I always feel so surprised when I go to write this post and see all my month's purchases laid out in one long list? I honesty thought we hadn't bought much at all this month but I, once again, see that I bought more than I thought I had. I already know next months list will probably be long too; I'm hoping to start working on picking out Evan's schoolwork for next year and I want to buy a bunch of bins to organize our freezers. But enough about that; today is time for Prime Purchases with Tanya! I finally broke down and ordered this blouse that I've been seeing on various blogs and I really like it. It's going to be a great blouse for spring with all the fun colors and I love the wide sleeves. This blouse popped up as another suggestion and on a whim I decided to add that to my cart too and I just love it; the material, the style, and the color are just perfect for me. It comes in a bunch of colors and I can see myself ordering another one or two.. T

Let's Look At... Our Grocery haul
March 13, 2024
I don't always join in with Shay and Erika for their Let's Look but this month just founded much too fun to skip! I actually took photos of our grocery haul a few weeks running to give you some idea of what we usually buy and what things are just an "occasionally" buy kind of thing. Now before I show you these photos I do have to explain that no, we are not vegetarians. However, we did just buy 1/2 a cow last month (from a local farmer/ butcher-- and honestly I think that much red meat is going to last us well over a year!) and had previously stocked up on all sorts of chicken breasts and tenders at BJ's so we rarely buy meat on our weekly grocery run. Even so most of our weekly grocery haul is fresh fruits and veggies... that has been that way for years but I've really been amping up as we try to limit processed foods and I move toward a more plant based diet. The first week our table looked like this: We go through a lot of food because all 5 of us eat
