Brownie Dip Ingredients

For this recipe, there are only a few ingredients:

  • Boxed brownie mix
  • A little milk
  • Mini chocolate chips (totally optional but recommended)

How To Make Edible Brownie Batter Dip

  1. Microwave the brownie mix for 1 minute and 15 seconds (stopping and mixing it after 15-second intervals).
  2. Beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth, then mix in the whipped topping.
  3. Mix in the box of brownie mix (just the dry mix), then add in the milk and mix until smooth.

From start to finish, this recipe will take under 5 minutes to make.

PRO-TIP: I highly recommend heat treating your brownie mix prior to mixing it into the recipe. You can do this by microwaving the mix for 1 minute and 15 seconds (stopping and mixing it after 15-second intervals)

You can also add in mini chocolate chips, candies, chopped brownie pieces, or really whatever your chocolate-loving heart is craving.

I’ve made it with mini M&Ms too – which reminded everyone of cosmic brownies. Or if you love peanut butter brownies, you can try adding in chopped peanut butter cups. Or if you love s’mores brownies – you could add in mini marshmallows and chopped graham crackers.

Then spoon the batter into a bowl, and you’re ready to serve.

Brownie Mix Add-Ins for Dip

We love to mix in all sorts of treats. Some of our favorite are M&M’s, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter chocolate chips, crushed up pretzles or graham crackers and Reese’s Pieces.

FAQs

Does brownie batter need to be baked immediately? ›

Making Brownie Batter in Advance

Does chilling brownie batter make it better? ›

Flavor-wise, the ones baked from refrigerated batter did taste a little more intense — richer, more chocolate-y.

Should I make brownies the day before? ›

Nigella's classic Brownies (from HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS) are moist and squidgy and should keep well in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Why do brownies dip in the middle? ›

Can I just eat brownie batter? ›

When making cookies, brownies, cakes, or bread, you might be tempted to taste a bite before it's fully baked. But you can get sick after eating or tasting raw (unbaked) dough or batter. Anyone, including young children, can also get sick from handling or eating raw dough used for crafts or play clay.

Are brownies better with oil or butter? ›

In brownies, both butter and oil will offer a moist, tender texture, but only butter will give the dish the aeration needed for rising brownies well. If you use a cake brownie, butter is a better option because it helps rise the batter. For denser, fudge type brownies, oil is permissable.

Why do you put coffee in brownies? ›

The trick: Replace the water with coffee. You don't need much, generally ¼ to ⅓ cup. Are brownies better left out or in the fridge? ›

At room temperature, they'll keep for three to four days; in the refrigerator, about five days. Freezing brownies may affect their texture, so it's best to take a few precautions.

What can I add to brownie mix to make them better? ›

Nuts and chocolate are a flavor combination made in heaven. In addition to scattering nuts on top of brownies, you can also add them directly to the batter, then bake as usual. Walnuts, pecans, almonds and peanuts all work beautifully. Just be sure to toast the nuts beforehand for extra depth.

Can I use 2 year old brownie mix? ›

How do you doctor up brownie mix? ›

The first and easiest upgrade you can give to your boxed brownie mix is to add a tablespoon of instant coffee to the batter. Adding coffee to your brownies boosts their flavor because its bitter quality balances out sweetness, making it less overpowering. It allows that delicious chocolate flavor to really shine.
