2. Do a weekly scalp scrub

Sure, you might lose a few hairs in the process (ones that were bound to fall later that day, before restarting their growth cycles), but doing this scrub also boosts nutrient delivery to your scalp and hair follicles. It even clears the scalp of dead skin cells, excess dirt and grime, as well as buildup of hair styling product. This exfoliation allows follicles to sprout hairs uninhibited, plus it also mitigates fungal breakouts and flaking. 4. Blow dry less often, and at cooler settings

The heat from ablow dryer is not just damaging to your hair; it can also wilt the follicles themselves. There’s no recovering from that kind of frying, so keep the dryer on cool, if you must, and pick up an ionic dryer, ceramic dryer, or tourmaline, all of which cause less damage to hairs. (Oh, and take shorter, milder showers, while you’re at it.)

5. Apply a scalp serum or tonic daily

Think of these as a bit like skin care for your dome, something you apply daily. These products primarily aim to stimulate circulation in the scalp, thus boosting nutrient delivery to the follicles, thus fortifying and better anchoring hairs from the onset. Other scalp serums and tonics may hinder DHT production (DHT is the hormonal byproduct that can shrivel up your follicles); balance oil production; neutralize inflammation and fungus; exfoliate dead cells; or even resetpH levels.
