Passengers on its maiden voyage, a sold-out, seven-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, are now enjoying some next-level experiences at sea.

Icon of the Seas sails out of PortMiami, the world's busiest cruise port.

It started at $1,775 per person, not including taxes, fees and port charges. Compare that to starting prices of $1,259 per person, not including taxes, fees and port charges, that were available for sailings on the ship shortly after it opened for bookings in 2022.

This $2 billion floating resort is largely booked until 2026. Spanning nearly 1,200 feet, the cruise ship has 20 decks, which makes the Icon of the Seas the world's largest cruise ship. It's a city at sea, accommodating up to 7,600 passengers in 2,805 staterooms and nearly 10,000 people, including the crew.

Passengers can enjoy six waterslides, seven swimming pools, an ice skating rink, a theater, and over 40 dining establishments, bars, and lounges. With a maximum capacity of 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members, this ship has been designed to accommodate a diverse range of travelers.

What is the sister ship of the Icon of the Seas? ›

Royal Caribbean has announced its next Icon class ship, the Star of the Seas. The class' first vessel, the Icon of the Seas, will debut in late January 2024.
