When I say these Ridiculously Easy Blondie Bars taste good, I’m not kidding.

As a food blogger, I bake lots of goodies each week. Many of you may be wondering what I do with all those treats? I couldn’t possibly eat them all, so lately I’ve been developing recipes, baking and photographing, and then selling the goodies in treat boxes.

I’m in the process of detailing all the steps I take to make the Treat Box sales a success. I’ll link that article here just as soon as I finish it!

Last week’s treat boxes included these Blondie Bars.

I had my regular customer’s ordering boxes as usual and then after I delivered I started getting texts and messages.

Another wonderful bakery box. Thank you so much. They really enjoyed it!

We received a box today from my mom and LOVED everything! Do you by chance have any more of the square bars? I don’t know what they are but my kids freaked out!

Ingredient Rundown

Butter– It should go without saying that real butter is always the way to go, but are you using the unsalted variety? Save the salted butter for your toast and buy unsalted for baking.

There are two reasons why you should be using unsalted butter.

  1. You have more control over the salt content of your baking when you use unsalted butter.
  2. Salt is a preservative and salted butter has a longer shelf life. Why use butter that’s been sitting around on the store shelves for your baking? Unsalted butter is fresher!

Brown Sugar-There are two types of brown sugar. Light brown and dark brown. In general, they can be used interchangeably. The dark brown sugar has more molasses in it and therefore has a stronger flavor. I used light brown sugar in this recipe and liked the amount of flavor it added. Either type of brown sugar will work here.

Flour-This recipe calls for 1 3/4 cups( or 7.5 oz) all-purpose flour. If you have a food scale then weighing your flour is the best option. If you do not have a food scale, then gently spoon the flour into your measuring containers and level the tops. Food scales are fairly inexpensive and definitely worth the investment if you plan of doing lots of baking. Click here to see the very basic, but trusty food scale I’ve been using for the last few years.

Eggs-Make sure you are using room temperature eggs. They will mix into the batter more easily and incorporate more ail as the batter mixes. If you forget to pull them out ahead of time, just set your eggs in a bowl of warm water while you gather the other ingredients for 2-3 minutes.

Baking Pan– The baking time and temperature are designed for a 9 by 9-inch square pan. This is a common size for brownies and bars and is size to have in your collection. Here is the pan I have.I have seen pan charts that say a 9 inch round cake pan or an oval casserole dish will do in a pinch, if you don’t have the 9×9 square pan. If you have a pan size that works for this recipe, be sure and let me know in the comments below.
