Sangria is definitely one of the world’s greatest inventions…am I right? Delicious wine, fresh fruit, and a little extra alcohol to give it a nice kick… what could be better?!

Raspberry Lemonade Moscato Sangria (2)

I especially love sangria because it can be made year-round. I love a good red wine sangria with pomegranate on a cold winter evening, or an apple cinnamon sangria with freshly picked apples in the fall. My absolutefavorite kind of sangria though is one that is bursting with summer flavors like this Moscato sangria.

I love a summer co*cktail that doesn’t take much prep work or bartending skills and this Moscato sangria recipe is just that! All you have to do is dump all of your ingredients into a pitcher, give them a quick stir, and you’ve got yourself a co*cktail to serve up for your poolside happy hour!

Ingredients

Fruit – to make 8 servings of this delicious pink Moscato sangria you’ll want a pint of fresh raspberries and 2 lemons. One of those lemons will be used for juicing and one for slices to make your sangria look (and taste) beautiful!

Alcohol – the alcohol base for any sangria is always some kind of wine. I’ve made red wine sangria and white wine sangria, but my summertime favorite is always Moscato sangria. Moscato wine has a slight fizzy texture and is on the sweeter end of wines, which makes it perfect for a nice fruity co*cktail!

Most sangrias also have a little extra hard alcohol in them to give it a little kick. For this sangria, I like using raspberry vodka. It gives a little extra raspberry flavor without over-sweetening the drink. If you’ve only got plain vodka on hand, that works perfectly fine too!Triple sec is also great to add a little more citrus flavor.

Mixers – to finish off your Moscato sangria, you’ll need some ginger ale and raspberry lemonade to mix in.

How to make Moscato Sangria

No fancy bartending gear or skills necessary to make this delightful co*cktail… grab a big pitcher, all your ingredients, and get ready to fall in love with your Moscato sangria!

  1. In a 10-cup or larger pitcher, add the raspberries and sliced lemon. Then pour in the followed by the lemon juice, ginger ale, and raspberry lemonade. Last, but not least, pour in your alcohol: wine and vodka.
  2. Let your sangria chill in the fridge for at least two hours. This helps the flavors to really mix together creating a mouthwatering co*cktail!
  3. Serve your pink Moscato sangria over ice with a sprig of mint as a garnish.

If you’re looking for a light, refreshing co*cktail, keep the recipe as is. If you’re looking to up your party game a bit, you can totally add up to 1 cup of vodka to make it stronger. Go ahead… live life on the edge 🙂

Can you make sangria with Moscato?

In my humble opinion, sweet Moscato wine is the perfect wine to make white sangria with. It’s a sweet white wine that has a slightly fizzy texture to it. It also has delicious fruit flavors in it. That’s why it works so great as a sangria base…. fruity wine mixed with fresh fruit, it’s a match made in co*cktail heaven!

I havealways been a big fan of Carlo Rossi wines. My wine-fanatic friendshate me for it, but it’s inexpensive and I think it tastes great. (Especially when being made into a sangria!) There is even a Carlo Rossi Moscato sangria that you can buy pre-made! I love making raspberry lemonade Moscato sangria with the Carlo Rossi Moscato sangria because it really balances out the raspberry and lemonade flavors.

If you’re not much of a Moscato drinker (or you’re looking for a slightly less sweet sangria), you can always use different types of wine! When I want to use red wine for sangria, like this Cran-Apple Sangria, I’ll typically use a Pinot Noir. Red wines pair really nicely with apples, pears, and oranges.

If you’re looking for a less-sweet summery sangria, like this Lemon-Lime Sangria, go ahead and make one with white wine! If I’m not making my Moscato sangria, I’ll typically make a white sangria with a Riesling or a Pinot Grigio. These pair nicely with berries, peaches, and citrus fruits!

How do you drink Moscato?

So you’ve got yourself a few bottles of sweet (and delicious) Moscato wine on hand…. now you’re wondering what to do with it? First off, Moscato wine is great to just sip on its own! Pour yourself a nice glass of chilled Moscato and sit poolside. Sounds perfect to me!

But, if you’re looking for some ways to use that Moscato in a more unique way, try out my other two favorite ways to use Moscato: Moscato Pink Lemonade Punch (perfect for a bridal shower or pool party) or Strawberry Mango Moscato Slushie. (Perfect for those hot sticky summer days where you just want to be drinking a slushie to cool down!)
