Anteriormente te hablamos de Mercadotecnia Social, Marketing Social o Social Marketing, una forma de desarrollar e integrar conceptos de marketing para influir comportamientos que benefician a individuos y comunidades, buscando un mayor bien social.

No debe, por supuesto, confundirse con el Social Media Marketing, que en realidad implica las estrategias de marketing a través de sitios de redes sociales, que puede formar parte de una estrategia general de marketing o realizarse independientemente.

Social Marketing y cómo aplicarlo

En esa ocasión mencionamos los pasos para realizar una campaña de marketing social, que aunque mencionamos en el anterior post, no profundizamos tanto en ello. Los pasos, como los mencionamos entonces, son:

  • Identificar qué comportamiento se quiere cambiar.
  • Identificar la audiencia.
  • Identificar las barreras para cambiar.
  • Reducir las barreras para el cambio.
  • Probar las ideas para animar el cambio en un grupo de personas.
  • Exponer ampliamente los beneficios del cambio.

Identificar el comportamiento a cambiar

De forma más extensa, el primer paso para crear una campaña de Social Marketing consiste, tras analizar el entorno y la situación en general, en determinar qué es exactamente lo que causa poco control o desequilibrio, y a partir de ahí, entender con qué comportamiento humano puede cambiarse esta situación.

Identificar a qué audiencia llegará la campaña

El segundo paso de este proceso es identificar a qué audiencia se quiere llegar con la campaña.

Esta audiencia puede dividirse en dos, los agentes del cambio (quienes cambiarán su comportamiento para lograr modificar la situación que se quiere modificar), así como los receptores de la acción, es decir, los grupos, poblaciones, individuos que recibirán las mejoras.

Algunas veces el segundo grupo no es tan claro, puesto que algunas campañas, por ejemplo, hablan de un cambio en el ambiente (como las que buscan reforestar un bosque) que beneficiará a la larga la ecología de un lugar, pero cuyos receptores de la acción son variados. Sin embargo, vale la pena determinar de forma precisa la audiencia para poder lograr involucrar a las más personas posibles.

Identificar y reducir las barreras para cambiar

En un cambio social es muy importante tener presentes cuáles son las barreras para lograr un cambio y cómo puede reducirse lo más posible.

Hay cuestiones, como la salud pública o un cuidado específico del medio ambiente, que por su complejidad requieren examinar muy bien a qué se debe determinado problema, con todas sus causas obvias y escondidas, y dentro de estas causas qué retos son los que hay que resolver.

Probar las ideas para animar el cambio en un grupo de personas

Antes de implementar la campaña completa es buena idea realizar una prueba, en un grupo selecto tanto de los agentes del cambio como los receptores de la acción.

Este es un buen punto para obtener retroalimentación sobre la campaña y si lo que se está planeando implementar tendrá buena recepción en un público más general.

Exponer ampliamente los beneficios del cambio

Finalmente, se debe exponer en todos los medios seleccionados para alcanzar a la audiencia la campaña y los beneficios del cambio, de modo que se muestre lo más posible a la mayor cantidad de personas del mercado objetivo. También se debe de dar seguimiento a si la campaña logró su objetivo final: el cambio del comportamiento necesario para que haya una modificación de la situación problemática.

Este tipo de campañas, aunque muchas veces las realizan gobiernos u organizaciones sociales, pueden ser útiles cuando una empresa quiere realizar algún tipo de activismo en beneficio de su comunidad.
