Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (1)
Over the years, my thoughts on skin care have changed dramatically. When I was younger, I focused on buying the trendiest products at the most reasonable prices that more often than not proved to be irritating to my skin, ineffective, or both. As I got older, I went through a phase where I concentrated on obtaining super-concentrated formulas that would quickly destroy all of my skin problems. While they might’ve helped to clear up my breakouts, I was left with inflamed, dry, and red skin. After years of failed attempts of finding a skin care routine that actually worked (and tons of dollars down the drain),I had a life-changing facial with a wise esthetician who literally changed the way I thought about skin care.

After that facial, I started investing in high-quality skin care products that gently treated and nourished my skin. I threw all of my harsh products in the trash and opted for non-irritating formulas that wouldn’t leave my skin sensitive and inflamed. My goal was to find a skin care routine that was simple, luxurious, and effective, and I think I’ve finally found the perfect products. Today I’m sharing seven of the best skin care products thatactually work and explaining why each step is an important part of your skin care routine. I’ve tested each and every product mentioned in this post myself, and believe me, you’re not going to be disappointed with the results these products produce!

Radiant Cleansing Balm Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (2)
The first step of any good skincare routine is removing your makeup and cleansing your skin with a gentle face cleanser. This year, I’ve been obsessed with oil-based cleansers – especially cleansing balms. I know what you’re thinking. Why on earth would I put oil onto my already-dirty skin? Even though using an oil-based cleanser may seem counterproductive, you will be amazed at how quickly your skin changes when you switch to this gentle formula. Using a cleansing balm will remove all of your makeup along with the dirt, oil, and impurities on your skin in one simple step without drying out your skin.

So how do you use it? Before I get in the shower or bath, I warm up a small amount of agood cleansing balm, like my favorite Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm (also available in a cocoa bean scent),between my fingers and then gently massage it onto my face while my skin is still dry. Then I’ll hop in the shower, splash a small amount of water on my face, and massage the cleansing balm again to help it remove all traces of makeup and dirt. After cleansing is complete, I’ll wet a muslin cleaning cloth and wipe off any excess product and residue from my face. My skin is left silky-smooth and completely clean. If any broken-down makeup is still clinging to my face, I’ll simply use a cotton pad and micellar water to remove the last remnants of residue.

No matter your skin type, I’d highly recommend incorporating a cleansing balm into your daily skincare routine. It’s such a luxurious way to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin without adding any irritation. If you’re thinking about trying it out for the first time, do you yourself a favor and invest in a good cleansing balm. I’ve used cheap versions in the past, and they tend to be waxy and hard to remove after cleansing. Of all the formulas I’ve tried so far, theColleen Rothschild Beauty Radiant Cleansing Balmhas been my favorite by far.

Colleen Rothschild Beauty focuses on creating formulas that are simple, effective, and luxurious, and every product that I’ve tried from their line has basically been perfect. This cleansing balm dissolves like a dream, and the formula clears congested pores, removes dirt and impurities, dissolves makeup, and leaves skin feeling balanced and soft. Plus, you only need to use a small amount of product during each application, so a jar will last you a significant amount of time!

Dual Enzyme Polish Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (5)
Here’s where things get tricky. I do believe that your skin needs to be exfoliated on a regular basis, but I’m not a believer in harsh physical exfoliants. Meaning I don’t like super-scrubby products that scratch and irritate your skin! That’s why it’s been hard to find the perfect exfoliating scrub to recommend to you. Of course, Ilove using an acid toner on a daily basis, but sometimes your skin needs an extra dose of exfoliation to get rid of dry, flaky, and dull skin. When you’re choosing an exfoliating scrub, look for products like Colleen Rothschild’s Dual Enzyme Polish with very fine physical exfoliating particles combined with some type of chemical exfoliant. The combination of two types of exfoliants will give you the best results.

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (6)
As I mentioned, finding the perfect exfoliating scrub has been extremely tricky, but I’ve done it. After years of testing, I can safely say that theColleen Rothschild Dual Enzyme Polishis the best exfoliating scrub that I’ve ever tried. This scrub has tiny microspheres that remove dull skin gently and a combo of AHAsand fruit enzyme to finish the exfoliation process. Plus, the formula features comfrey extract and argan oil to soothe and rebalance your skin while the other products are exfoliating. Oh, and it smells like a tropical smoothie.I literally can’t say enough nice things about this product, so please treat yourself or a friend to a jar of this miracle scrub. It’s honestly so, so good!

Vitamin C Treatment Complex Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (8)
Now that we’ve cleansed away impurities and gently buffed away dull skin, it’s time to add some much-needed nutrients back into your skin with a serum. When you’re selecting a serum, look for a product(s) that targets your skin’s particular problems (wrinkles, dry spots, loss of elasticity, etc). You’ll want to apply your serum to your skin after cleansing but before moisturizing to ensure that all of the good ingredients are able to soak into your pores to work their magic.

Right now, I’m focusing on using serums that make my skin look glowy and less wrinkly. The Colleen RothschildVitamin C Treatment Complexis a recent addition to my skincare routine, and I’m confident it will stay in routine for a long time to come. The lightweight formula improves your skin’s radiance, provides a protective barrier against pollution and sun damage, reduces hyperpigmentation, and helps to stimulate your skin’s collagen production. While I love the effects, I love the way it makes my skin feel even more. As soon as I apply a small amount to clean skin, my pores drink this serum up in no time. My skin feels refreshed and ready-to-go!

Sheer Renewal Cream Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (10)
No matter what skin type you may have, it’s important to have a lightweight moisturizer, like Colleen Rothschild Sheer Renewal Cream, in your skincare collection. Whether you use it as a day cream or an all-purpose moisturizer, having a product that’s moisturizing without being greasy will definitely come in handy. Whenever my skin is feeling on the normal side, I’ll apply a lightweight moisturizer to my face after applying my serum to hydrate my skin. If my skin is more on the dry side, I’ll simply add a few drops of facial oil to beef up the formula.

Even if you have the oiliest skin on the planet, pleasseeeeee use a moisturizer every day. When your skin is properly hydrated, your oil production will stabilize. That meansless oil on your face – not more! Unfortunately, the opposite effect happens when you skin moisture. Skin that’s dried out with harsh products will cause more oil to be produced. Moral of the story: EVERYONE needs to use a moisturizer!

If you’re looking for a lightweight moisturizer that’s still extremely effective at leaving your skin hydrated and replenished, definitely check out theColleen Rothschild BeautySheer Renewal Cream. It has an oil-free that’s completely weightless on your skin, and it provides the ideal amount of moisture in addition to promoting new cell turnover and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, it’s the perfect base for your makeup. The light formula soaks into your skin and leaves behind a completely non-greasy finish that will make your foundation glide on like a dream!

Extreme Recovery Cream Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (11)
After a long day, your skin can always use an extra dose of moisture. At night, I’ll skip the lightweight moisturizer an opt for a thicker and more luxurious moisturizing cream, like Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream, to replenish and revitalize my skin. Even though I want my skin to be slathered in moisture every evening, I do not want my skin to feel slick and greasy. I want to use a product that soaks into my skin and adds plumping moisture to keep my wrinkles at bay without looking/feeling like an oil slick.

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (12)
One of my all-time favorite moisturizers is theColleen RothschildExtreme Recovery Cream. It provides intensive moisture to rehydrate your skin, strengthens the hydro-lipid barrier, fights against the development of fine lines and wrinkles, and helps to even out your skin tone and texture. In other words, it’s a miracle cream, and you need it. As much as I love using this effective moisturizer in the evenings, I also use it during the day when my skin is feeling tight or dry. I also make sure to apply a generous amount to my neck and the backs of my hands because it just feels good on your skin! If you’ve been looking for the perfect moisturizer that’s deeply hydrating without being greasy, definitely check out this moisturizer.

Face Oil No. 9 Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (14)
One skincare product that you might not be familiar with is facial oil, but I promise you, a goodface oil, like Colleen Rothschild Face Oil No. 9, is a fundamental part of any effective skincare routine. I have dry skin, so I apply a face oil to my skin before, during, or after moisturizing on a twice-daily basis, but it can be used by all skin types in smaller doses. I simply pump a few drops onto my fingers and massage it gently across my skin – paying particular attention to any dry spots or rough patches. While there are tons of face oils on the market, look for a formulation that effectively hydrates and soaks into your skin. The last thing you want is a product that sits on top of your skin without ever fully absorbing.

I’m currently obsessed with theColleen RothschildFace Oil N°9. I’ve been using it for several months, and I’m hooked on the intense moisture it provides with a blend of nine oils and vitamins. In addition to making your skin feel silky smooth, it helps to protect your skin from spots and wrinkles, improves your skin’s moisture barrier, and has no greasy residue. I use this product on everything, and I’ve been known to add a few drops to my foundation if I want a smoother finish.

While I’ve been using a full-size bottle over the past few months, I sadly had an accident and knocked the beautiful glass bottle onto my bathroom’s hard tile. Needless to say, my bathroom floor got a very luxurious facial treatment that evening, and I was completely disappointed to lose one of my favorite products. Thankfully, I had a travel-sized bottle of the face oil in my travel kit, so I’ll be using this pint-sized beauty until I remember to order a full-size replacement bottle (on my to-do list for today). Thankfully, it’s 20% offwith the code ABN20 through the end of the month!

Clarifying Detox Mask Review

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review: Is It Worth The Money? (16)
Last but certainly not least, everyone needs a good treatment mask in their skincare arsenal. No matter how precise and effective your skin care routine may be, stress and hormones can lead to surprise breakouts. That’s when I break out my favorite charcoal masks. One or two applications will help to draw out the impurities and get your skin back on track in no time. Even when my skin is looking nice and smooth, I still like to use a mask once a week to make sure that I’m giving my skin a deep clean.

While there are quite a few charcoal masks on the market, I assure you that they are not formulated equally. I’ve used some that have dried my skin out so severely that it took several days to recover. I personally love theColleen Rothschild Clarifying Detox Maskbecause it does everything that a traditional charcoal mask does with irritating your skin. The gentle formula effective removes trapped dirt and debris in your pores with a mix of activated charcoal and French kaolin clay, but it also uses pure micronized silver to reduce bacteria on your skin and Vitamin C and willowherb extract to soothe inflammation. After using this product, my skin feels clean and refreshed instead of dry and irritated.
